William A. Bland, Jr., 50, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 26, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He has been reunited with his adored Sierra Faith.

Bill "Billy" was the beloved son of Patricia and William A. Bland, Sr. and a proud and dear father to his daughter, Courtney Grace Bland. He is also survived by his grandmother Rose Hackett, sister Tricia Bland, niece Kaitlyn Bland, nephew James Bland-Register, great nephews Jase and Bryson Teed and special friend, Stormy Rush. He was a dear cousin, nephew and friend to many.

Although soft-spoken, his smile that lit up a room and his loving memory will live on for all who he has touched with his love and friendship.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sierra Faith Bland, grandparents Jeffery Hackett and Joseph and Ruth Bland. Billy was a 1991 graduate of Brunswick High School and a United States Army Reservist. He was a Correction Warden Analyst (STG Coordinator) at Lorain Correctional Institution.

He was an avid Notre Dame Football fan, and he enjoyed playing golf and above everything, being a father.

Visitation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, with services Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10:30 a.m. Immediately following services he will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, 6303 Center Road, Valley City.
