William "Bill" Martin Hastings died peacefully at home at the age of 93.  He will be remembered as an example of how to age gracefully.  He lived with appreciation and gratitude toward everyone he encountered.  He died surrounded by the family that loved him.

For 65 years he was the loving husband of Mary Madonna (nee Prunty), now deceased.   He cherished his children:  Mary Ellen (George) Hagenauer, William Hastings (deceased), Timothy (Peg) Hastings, Dan Hastings, and Rosanne Hastings (Jeff Collins).  He was a loving grandfather of 5: Sarah, Theresa, Megan, Amy, and Chrissie, and he was a great-grandfather "Grandpa Goose" of 11.   Beloved son of Thomas and Mary Ann (nee Coyne).  Dear brother of Thomas (deceased), Mary "Sis", Margaret Capron (deceased), and Jean Fragazi.

Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Rd., Valley City, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Martin of Tours Cemetery.
