William "Bill" Dempster Moore, age 93, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, with his family by his side. Bill, son of the late Wilbur Lincoln & Mary "Mae" McInnes (nee Aitken) Moore, was born in Monongahela, PA on October 31, 1930.  Bill married Georgia Ann Roher, affectionately known as Ann, on August 2, 1958, in Temple Evangelical Lutheran Church in Altoona, PA.  Bill raised his family in central New Jersey and Medina, OH.

Bill graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in 1952, with a degree in Business Economics and went on to serve in the US Army in Kobe, Japan in the Transportation Corps.  After his time in the Army, Bill worked in sales in the pipeline industry with US Steel and Lukens Steel.
Bill enjoyed volunteer work, teaching English as a Second Language with Project LEARN, and tutoring children at Garfield Elementary in Medina. He was also active in the Rotary Club of Medina, hosting exchange students from Finland, Japan, and Bolivia. Bill was an avid traveler and coin collector; he especially enjoyed his trip to the Hunan Province in China to adopt his granddaughter in 1996. Bill was proud of his Scottish heritage and enjoyed spending time with his family.

The family will always remember one of Bill's core beliefs: that some of the best things in life are laughing and sleeping, both of which are free!

Bill is survived by his brother James "Jim" W. Moore from Los Gatos, California; loving daughters Carrie Moore (Joe Lathrop) & Amy (William) French; cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Falon) Stahley, Lia (Andrew) Reis, Austin Stahley, and Liam French and great-grandson Roy Stahley. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Ann Moore and sister Irene L. Moore.

A private graveside service with full military honors will be held later this month at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
