William R. Schempp, age 78, of North Royalton, passed away April 9, 2026. Born January 20, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bill was the beloved son of the late Lloyd Anthony and Jean (Austin) Schempp. He shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with his childhood sweetheart and devoted wife, Mary-Frances (Parsons) Schempp.

Bill proudly served his community as a Cleveland Police Officer for 33 years before retiring in 2000. He was deeply respected by his colleagues and cherished the lifelong friendships he built. He especially enjoyed his weekly lunches and dinners with his dearest friends.

A passionate car enthusiast, Bill loved cruising in his hot rods and attending car shows. Known affectionately as "Croozer" among his car buddies, he took great pride in his classic cars. Above all, he treasured time spent with family, friends, cruising buddies, and his "brothers in blue."

In addition to his loving wife, Bill is survived by his children, Todd Schempp and Amanda Tarase; his grandchildren, Logan, Lucas, Lexi, and Lane; and his brother, Jeff (Liz). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Bill's family will welcome guests from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio, with a service beginning at 7:00 pm.
