William "Bill"
Zorn, Sr.
February 9, 1940 – March 3, 2026
William "Bill" Zorn Sr., 86, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026.
He was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio, on February 9, 1940, to Fred and Myrtle (Hykes) Zorn.
Bill grew up in Massillon, Ohio and attended Washington High School, where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Sandy. After graduating, he attended Michigan State University on a football scholarship and was later drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1963.
Bill found his true passion in sales and management which led to him working more than 40 years in the chemical distribution industry. The vast majority of those years were spent at ChemCentral, before retiring from Univar Solutions in 2005. During his career, he was an active member of the Cleveland Chemical Association and also served as a past president.
He was a devoted member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Strongsville, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition to this ministry, he helped lead prayer groups, served as a retreat leader, and assisted with Pre-Cana. Bill also enjoyed golfing and bowling, but above all else, his greatest passions were his faith in Jesus, his beloved wife, Sandy, and his family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sandra (Brick); his children, Michelle (Steve) Kuebler, William "Bill" Jr. (Amy), and Shannon Hyde; and his grandchildren, Megan (Nick) Stone, Christian Hyde, and Zach Hyde.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, William "Billy" III.
Visitation will be held from 3–5 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 16271 Pearl Rd., Strongsville.
