Obituary

Wilma E. Croskey (nee Billman) was born to Charles Elwood Billman and Hattie Naomi Billman (nee Bennader) August 24, 1919 in Homerville, Ohio. She graduated from Lodi High School in 1937 and the College of Wooster in l941 with a B.A. degree. She taught high school in Spencer for three years, after which she married John W. Croskey on June 4, 1944. To this union were born two daughters, Eloise (Robert) Rice of Lodi and Carolyn (Darrell) Waite of Westfield Center. After the girls were in school, she substituted teaching in the Medina County Schools for seven years. Throughout her lifetime, she gave hundreds of students private piano and organ lessons. Wilma was a lifetime member of New Horizons Lutheran Church (formerly Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church) in Homerville, Ohio where she was a pianist for 78 years and organist for 55 years until she retired in May 2007. She will be buried in Lodi Woodlawn Cemetery beside her beloved husband. She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren Andrew, Brandon and Catie Waite; and cousin Vivah Walters. Family and friends may call on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 6-8pm at Waite and Son Funeral Home (765 North Court Street, Medina 44256). Funeral service will take place on Saturday at New Horizons Lutheran Church (8439 River Corners Road, Homerville 44235) at 11am with an hour prior visitation at the church. Pastor Chris Bartholomew will be officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery (409 Medina Street, Lodi 44254). Contributions may be made in Wilma's memory to New Horizons Lutheran Church or Hospice of Medina County (5075 Windfall Road, Medina 44256).
