Wilma R.
Graff Jordan
August 6, 1927 – September 25, 2021
Wilma Ruth Graff Jordan, age 94, passed away on September 25, 2021. She was born in Granger Township August 6, 1927 on the family farm to the late Julius and Mary (nee Wilbur) Graff. Wilma graduated from Granger High School in 1945 where she was a cheerleader. She attended Dyke and Spencerian Business School and worked for N.A. Insurance Co. in claims. Wilma married her childhood sweetheart, Milton Moses, who was a proud member of the 42 nd US Army Rainbow Division that helped liberate prisoners from the Dachau concentration camp. She and Milton had five children and later divorced.
Wilma was proud that she was able to experience the old ways of farming into an era of modern operations. She attended Sunday school at Remsen Church of Christ and was a member of the Granger 4-H club and Girls Reserves. Art and home economic classes helped shape her life and she became an ardent seamstress at a very young age. Organic gardening, canning, freezing, and recycling was very important to her.
Wilma took employment at The Elmar & Iacomini's in Bath which paved the way for her schooling at the Titus school of Electrolysis. She became a certified Doctor of Cosmetic Therapy having practiced for 32 years. In 1982 she met and later married her kind hero, William F. Jordan, Sr. They spent 19 years together traveling and vacationing at The Villages in Florida. She enjoyed tracking her roots (genealogy) and listening to coast-to-coast AM radio. In 2017 she acquired an abandoned house in Medina, and successfully restored it into an outstanding home for four worthy young men.
Her beloved Bill passed away in 2001 and she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Alice Moses; her sister, Alice M Walcheck (Willard, brother- in- law); brothers, Floyd C. Graff (Evelyn) and Wilbur C. Graff (Luain).
She leaves behind her precious children, Judith A. Ford (Roy), Jeffrey R. Moses (Deborah, deceased), James M. Moses (Violet), and John K. Moses, who was her kind caregiver for many years. Other surviving are her special nieces, Carol Doraghty and Deb Graff; grandchildren, Shelly Ford, Anthony Ford, Lynette Roush (Mark), Robert Moses (Amie), Bryan, Elizabeth, and Jeff Moses, Jr., Bobby and Kenny Moses; 10 great- grandchildren, 3 great- great- grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held for Wilma and her daughter Mary Alice at Granger-Fairview Cemetery at later date with Rev. Dave Maly officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Wilma's memory be made to Remsen Christian Church, 1500 Remsen Rd, Medina, OH 44256 or Compassionate Care Hospice, 61 N. Cleveland-Massillon Road, Suite E, Akron, OH 44333
