Obituary

Zachary Arthur Weber, affectionately known as Zack or Z, was born on the 4th of July 2002. He was only 21 years old when he lost his life at his home in Valley City, Ohio on May 29, 2024, as the result of a hunting accident.

Zack graduated from Buckeye High School in 2021 where he played and lettered 4 years in football and basketball. Zack was a scholar athlete and won all conference team titles multiple years.  He won the prestigious Golden Buck award for his excellence and devotion to sportmanship his senior year and was named Homecoming King. Zack also participated in Future Farmers of America. The football field and basketball court were his stage where he shined and performed with joy and a zest for all to enjoy. Zack received offer letters to play football from 9 different colleges and universities.  Zack accepted an academic scholarship to play football at The College of Wooster. Zack attended and played football for 3 years at the College of Wooster where he planned to graduate and come back to Buckeye to teach history, and coach football and basketball before his passing.

Zack loved fishing, skiing, golfing, hiking, ping pong, shooting baskets, playing catch, watching movies, going to cheer for his Browns, Cavs, and Guardians with family and friends, and playing with his dogs Cody, Bella, Rey, and Luna.

In Zack's 21 years of life, he traveled to Mexico, Belize, Aruba, Argentina and throughout the Caribbean. He explored New York, Los Angelos, London and Paris.  He even made it around the world to Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia.  Zack's most cherished memories were shared at the Outer Banks where he spent many summer and Christmas vacations with his family and friends. Zack loved the thrill of rollercoasters, and he worked hard to afford multiple trips to Cedar Point and Universal in Orlando. Zack went to Super Bowl 52 with his family dressed head to toe in Browns gear and his photo was tweeted thousands of times around the world.

Zack's kindness, humor, and compassion towards people was his gift to all who encountered him whether you were a coach, teacher, professor, janitor, postal worker, cafeteria cook, professional athlete, or a homeless person Zack treated everyone equally with respect, tenderness, and a level of sincerity that touched their hearts and left a lasting impression. As a sweet and innocent child, Z was 7 years old when he realized the fireworks on the 4th of July were for Independence Day and not for his birthday. Please remember Zach every 4th of July and show kindness to strangers, friends, and family to honor his life and his legacy of love and hope.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bryan and Annette Weber; siblings Shannon and Luke; grandparents Timothy and Dianna Weber, Alice and John Seever; aunts and uncles, Adam and Darlean Weber, Holly Weber, Robin Weber, Patrick Weber, Nicole and Gary Wingfield; cousins Jake and Kyle Dewey, Conner, Devynne and Ryan Weber; and many extended family and friends.
