Thomas B. Walker, 87, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008.
He was born in Cleveland, but spent most of his youth in Lockport, N.Y. Mr. Walker later graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and General Motors Institute. After college, he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific in World War II. Upon returning to Cleveland after the war, he worked for the Ramsey-Bennett Co. as an engineer. In 1958, Mr. Walker purchased the company and was president until his retirement in 1980. Since then, he enjoyed a second home in Fort Myers, Fla. He loved fishing, hunting, golf, tennis and boating.
Mr. Walker is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jean; sister, Doris Jakubowski; brother, Dr. Robert Searles Walker; daughters, Deborah (Dennis) Gant and Susan (Murray) Van Epp; son, Thomas (Debra) Walker Jr.; grandchildren, Logan Walker and Leanne (Mark) Katterheinrich; and great-grandson, Oakley Katterheinrich.
Interment service will be privately held in Canada.
