Obituary

Cheryl Lee Deyling, age 75, of Lodi, went into the White Light December 10 th , 2022. She was born July 11 th ,1947 to the late Jack and Dorothy (Kreiger) Spencer in Medina, Ohio.

Cheryl graduated from Medina High School in 1965, shortly after meeting her soon to be husband David, who she waited for until he returned from Vietnam. They were married April 4 th 1970, and were together every day since.

Cheryl was an Astrologer, Tarot Card reader, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She never said no to helping anyone, whether it be friends, family, or a stranger on the street. She also had a great love for Cleveland sports as well all music especially James Brown and Janis Joplin. She was heavily involved in the Spiritualist Community which entailed frequent trips to Lily Dale and being a part of the First Spiritualist Church in Kent, where was an ordained minister and a treasurer. Special thanks to Reverend Edna and Augustine, as well as her church family and friends for being a large part of her life.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David Deyling of Lodi; brother Jack Spencer of Wooster; aunts Carol and Sheila Gibson of Medina;  son Brian of Lodi; son Brett (Maryann) of Lodi; granddaughters Ashley, Jessica Mccray (Marcus), Brittney, Madison, Nadia; grandsons Corey (Amanda) and Joseph; great-grandchildren Brian, Farrah, Annabelle, Kaylee, Kendric, Evalyn, Laila, and Maddox, god daughter Evangelene (Jim)Brown, best friends Kathy Fortney and Karen Tester; many nieces and nephews, as well as many other friends and family that she cherished throughout her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her sister Sandra Maupin.

A special thank you to Kevin and Kim Winkler who were always there for Cheryl and David during her time at Cleveland Clinic.

Family and Friends are welcome to celebrate her life from 11am-12pm on Saturday December 17 th at Waite and Sons Funeral Home, 765 North Court Street, Medina Ohio 44256. A service will follow the gathering time. All are welcome to join the family for food and fellowship at the funeral home

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make donations to the Medina County SPCA.
