Donald F. Szmania, age 77, passed away April 7, 2023, in Brunswick, Ohio. He was born March 9, 1946, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Bronislaw (Browny) and Viola Szmania.

Don was the beloved spouse of Irene "Rene" (nee Bellissimo) Szmania for more than 43 years; brother of Gerald (Ruth) Szmania; cherished uncle, great-uncle, and dear friend of many.

Don was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Strongsville VFW Post 3345 and the Brunswick Eagles 3505. He was a proud graduate of Baldwin Wallace University in 1985, and he retired from a long and distinguished career at NASA.

The family will welcome guests from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, with a service following at 12:00 pm. Don will be laid to rest with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
