Jeanne Marie Masters (Bettinger), of Medina, Ohio, was called to heaven on July 16, 2023.

Jeanne was born on October 19, 1965, in Hartford, Connecticut. She attended Sylvania Northview High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in early childhood education at the University of Toledo, where she met her husband, Michael.

After graduation, Jeanne and Michael moved to Clarkston, Michigan where she worked as a department store manager. After the birth of their son Sean, they relocated to Ohio and gave birth to their daughter Samantha. Jeanne returned to work as a substitute teacher for many years in Medina City Schools, and most recently served as a records clerk for the Medina police department.

Jeanne was selfless, compassionate, and full of life. She cared deeply for her community and cherished her family; her children were her two greatest gifts in life. Jeanne enjoyed sharing laughs with friends, walking her dogs with neighbors, hiking, and golfing. She was also an avid traveler, spending many amazing vacations with her family – including a recent bucket list trip to Italy. We will remember Jeanne for her sense of humor, intelligent wit, and beautiful smile.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 31 years, Michael; her children, Sean (Denver, CO) and Samantha (Austin, TX); her siblings, Dianne (Howerton) Bettinger (Seaside, FL), Dale Bettinger (Anchorage, AK), Doug Bettinger (Toledo, OH), Amy (Lingle) Bettinger (Temperance, MI) and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce and Thomas Bettinger.

The family will receive visitors from 4-7pm on Friday, July 28th, at Waite & Son Funeral Home , 765 N. Court St, Medina, Ohio 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 29th, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St, Medina.
