Kathleen Kerr Stehno, age 86, entered the church triumphant on May 21, 2024, in Medina, Ohio. Born on April 6, 1938, in Onsted, MI, Kathleen led a life of dedication to education, community, church and family.

A bright and diligent student, Kathleen attended Onsted Community Schools in Michigan and Branksome Hall School in Toronto. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hillsdale College in 1959 with a BA degree. She furthered her education with a Master's degree from the University of Michigan, where she attended on a full scholarship. Kathleen's passion for learning and teaching found a home in Perrysburg High School, where she taught Mathematics and inspired countless students.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathleen was an active volunteer, dedicating her time to various community and church activities, particularly at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and Youth for Christ. She was also involved in the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) and other women's ministries at the local church level, the Diocese of Ohio, and Province V of the Episcopal Church. She served as President of each group at various times, leading the ministry and its focus.

Her skill as a seamstress was admired by many, and she found joy in creating beautiful garments, quilts and projects as a cherished hobby. She enjoyed many travels and adventures in the US and abroad with her loving husband. They traveled to many places including: Egypt, Australia. Singapore, Austria, China, England, Scotland, and the South Pacific.

Kathleen's life was marked by resilience and strength, shaped in part by the tragic S.S. Noronic ship disaster in Toronto in 1949. Kathleen at the age of 11 along with her Aunt Josephine Kerr (guardian) and sister Barbara survived the disaster but sadly lost her mother, Maryellen (Wagner) Kerr, father Raynor Andrew Kerr, and brother Philip Andrew Kerr.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Charles E. Stehno Jr. and her son Joseph Anton Stehno. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Charles E. (Marketa) Stehno III and Philip Andrew (Tracie) Stehno and her six grandchildren, Charles E. Stehno IV, Margaret Stehno, Raynor Stehno, Stella Stehno, Henry Stehno, and Charlotte Stehno, who were a source of immense pride and joy in her life. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Kerr (Leo) Wesley, who has been a constant source of strength and support.

A memorial service was held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Medina, Ohio where Kathleen's life and contributions were celebrated by those who loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 317 E Liberty St. toward the stained-glass window fund, a cause dear to Kathleen's heart.

Kathleen Kerr Stehno's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will be cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and will remain in our memory through prayer.
