Lisa M.
Primeau
June 9, 1988 – January 8, 2021
Our beautiful Lisa Marie Primeau lost her very courageous battle with heroin addiction. Although she fought fiercely and worked around the clock to be healthy, she always had time for others. Her soul was placed with the gift of giving. Her life had meaning to her when she could be there for others who were in need. Her greatest pleasure was to help someone with anything they needed no matter how big. She was everyone's leader and best friend. Loyal to the bottom of her heart. She rose to the efforts of guiding other addicts to a life free from heroin and drugs. She spent countless hours in women's shelters motivating and leading addicts to a clean and healthy lifestyle. Lisa found herself in a vicious cycle because of our broken system. When she needed to be supported, the system let her down. No insurance, no help. Lisa needed mental health help. This component was never offered through rehabilitation. She completed detox on January 6th and she was turned away from a facility that she was seeking help from. She died the day before another facility was willing to accept her. While she was in detox December 16, 2020 she wrote in a text, "I want to get better and I don't want to be put down anymore. I still don't have my Prozac and my head is beating me up. I love Kennedy so much and I wanted to be the best mom...she deserve so much more. I missed so much. I have had presents sitting in an empty unplayed room for months waiting and waiting regretting and regretting. I don't want to be lost anymore. I want to be a daughter, a sister, and a mother. I want to be part of a normal society. I don't know how to be friends with normal non-addicts. I want to close the door on it. I want to have a life. I really want to focus on mental health, healing trauma so I can be healthy and part of my family and friends. Thank you for everything. I will talk to you tomorrow. I love youuuuuu!!!"
Hope for her continued our support. We tried tough love, we tried love love, hand in hand support but the system worked against her to complete the process allowing for a full and healthy life. She carried her burdens and battled for others, She would try to fight everyone's fight not just her own. She was every person's grandest cheerleader. Lisa is grateful and thankful for anyone that held her hand during her journey. ; Friends that gave her love, support and a place to lay her head when she was exhausted. Lisa was afraid of another failure in rehab and her anxiety was high the night before she started another new rehab facility. This rehab was to be nine months long. She was clean from detox. Ready to go. Unable to calm herself down she thought, "just one last time". This last time was to set her free from this horrible cycle that took her life from us. She is no longer trapped, no longer sad, and no longer helpless. She is free to be the smart, intelligent, beautiful soul that God gifted her and will guide Kennedy through this life from the heavens. Kennedy is Lisa's legacy. She loved Kennedy and was selfless in allowing Kennedy to never witness the demons that plagued her mother. Kennedy loves her mommy so much and the loss of her will forever pain her. At eight years old, Kennedy needed the system to work.
Our precious Lisa was born in Akron to Peter (Jenny) Primeau and Nancy (Gene) Rice. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter Kennedy, her siblings, P.J., Polly, Spencer, Lacie, Kylie and Christiana. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many precious loved friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Peter E. and Catherine Primeau and George and Ann Cooley. She was a graduate of Black River High School. We will love you forever and always. Fly high and be free. Our hearts are forever broken and life is empty without you here with us. God please hold and comfort our baby girl in your arms until we get there. We will see you soon Lisa. "Love You More."
Due to the pandemic, a private service was held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations for Kennedy and to defray the cost of funeral expenses.
Online condolences and memories may be left on Lisa's guestbook at www.WaiteFuneralHome.com .
