Obituary

Pauline Aldons was born on August 7th, 1937, in London England.  Her parents were Ben & Laura Ockenden.  Ben went off to fight in WWII and didn't return for 5 years.  Pauline and her mother sought refuge in London's bomb shelters and her Mom took care of her until her Dad came home 5 years later.

She graduated from Clark's college and then worked at the Ealing town Hall as a shorthand typist.  It was there that she met her lifelong friend Marion.

Years later she met her now former husband Bruno at a Town Hall dance in London.  Bruno was an immigrant from his native country of Sri-Lanka.  They had two children together, Julie & Alison.  They lived in Ealing a suburb of London until they traveled by ship aboard the Queen Elizabeth II, immigrating to the US.

Pauline lived most of her life in Strongsville, Ohio.  She worked part-time an assisted living facility called the Patrician after being a stay-at-home Mom to her two daughters.

She travelled with her husband and two daughters and one special dog named Trudy in their camper all over the US on vacation every summer.   Years later they spent many summers on Dewees Island, South Carolina with their children & grandchildren.

Pauline had a love of gardening which probably came from her parents who had a beautiful garden at their home in the south of England.   Surprisingly not, her favorite color was green.

In later years her and Bruno loved to travel around the world and visited places such as Australia, Sri-Lanka, Hong Kong, Singapore & many more.  She also enjoyed getting away from the Cleveland winters at her house in Turks & Caicos in the Caribbean.

Between work, family & travel she had a full life.

Although most of her life was spent in the USA, her heart was always with her native Homeland of England.  She loved the monarchy and all the pomp & circumstance and traditions that went along with it.  She had a great interest in the royal family and didn't miss a single ceremony or event.  There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't have a cup of English tea at 4 pm.   Recently she was adamant about watching Queen Elizabeth's funeral.  She made sure she was up at 5:30 am to watch every minute of it.

Pauline enjoyed spending time with her family especially at Christmas with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.  The lighting of the traditional English pudding was the highlight of her Christmas celebrations. She also enjoyed having sleep overs for her grandchildren.  Her grandchildren have fond memories of the trips she took them on for their graduation gifts.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Robert) Curtis and Alison (Brian) Morgan; her grandchildren, Aaron Curtis, Steffani Netzel, Nicole Curtis, and Jessica Morgan; her great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Grant, Natalei, and Harper; and her former husband, Bruno Aldons. She was preceded by her parents.
