Richard Pierce Turner, age 89, of Medina, passed away on August 27, 2021. He was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on August 3, 1932, to the late Taylor and Dorothy (nee Melzark) Turner.

Richard was a professional civil engineer and spent his career in the transportation construction industry. An outdoorsman, Richard was an avid hunter and skier. He was also a past treasurer for the Medina County Lions, and he volunteered at Medina Hospital for a number of years.

Left to cherish Richard's memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara; his children, Becky (Steve) Armstrong, Theresa Brustkern, Rick (Kelly) Turner, and Joanna (Joe) Goettemoeller; stepchildren, Cheryl (Mark) Gissiner, Christopher Moreau, and Pam Moore; his sister, Marilyn Larkin; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Kathleen Armstrong and John Turner.

The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court Street in Medina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 10:00 am at St Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Road, Valley City. Interment will follow at St Martin of Tours Cemetery.
