Vera Lynn (Roys) Barco, age 85, of Medina, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday April 28, 2024. She was born June 6, 1938, to Richard and Vera (Pierce) Roys in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1957, Lynn graduated from Rocky River High School and went on to continue her education at Kent State University. She worked for the Girl Scouts in Elyria and Oberlin. Lynn loved to sing in the Rocky River United Methodist Church choir where she fell for David Barco by tripping over his foot in the aisle.  They married in that church on August 10, 1963. Lynn and David lived in Rocky River until they moved to Medina, York Township in 1966.

Family was always first and foremost in her life, she was a loving mother and homemaker.  She worked with her husband at the Barco family greenhouse growing flowers and they were both active in the Medina County Farm Bureau.  Lynn was active in the Medina United Methodist Church choir, Elizabeth's Circle, Coterie, and was happy to be a part of the building of the new church on Foote Road. She appreciated the arts and enjoyed sewing, knitting, drawing, and painting as a member of the Medina Art League and Medina Needlework Guild.

Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband David Barco.

She is survived by her children; Carolyn (Don) Van Drei, and James (Jody) Barco, grandchildren; Jasmine (Jim) Parina, David, Hannah, Victoria (Nik), Nathaniel, and James (Kara), and her brother Skip (Connie) Roys and lifetime of collected friends.

Calling hours will be 4:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Waite and Sons Funeral Home 765 N Court Street, Medina, Ohio, 44256. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Friday May 3, 2024, at Medina United Methodist Church 4747 Foote Road, Medina, Ohio, 44256. Interment will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, Ohio. A celebration of life meal will be at the Medina United Methodist Church following the cemetery ceremony.
