William Roger Maxwell, 85 of Homerville, passed away February 17, 2010 in Medina. He was born September 20, 1924 in Cowden Beath, Scotland to the late Colin and Rebecca (nee White). Mr. Maxwell retired as a millwright with LTV Steel with 30 years of service and was a recipient of Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals with the US Army in WWII. He enjoyed many winters in Florida, was an avid fisherman and sportsman and a member of VFW Post 7783 in St. Benedict, PA.

William is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Louise "Wish"(nee Ponchock) Maxwell, son, William R. (Bonnie) Maxwell of Medina; daughters, Karen Billy of Homerville, Diane(Joseph)Goebel of Litchfield, Susan(Ken)Williams of Michigan and Renee(Mike)Sandy of Medina; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and brother, John Maxwell of Lakewood.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth and his brothers, Colin, Galvin and Robert, grandson Kenneth Williams and son in law Nick Billy.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 pm at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina 44256. Service, Saturday 11:00am at the funeral home. Military burial with honors at the Spring Grove Cemetery Chapel, Medina.
